Plaquemines Orange Festival
Fort Jackson
📅 Dates: December 5-7, 2025
📍 Location: Historic Fort Jackson, Buras, LA (off Highway 23, 65 miles south of Gretna)
Carnival and Entertainment Schedule: (TBA)
- Friday: Carnival open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday: Festival open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday: Festival open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Celebrate the 79th year of Plaquemines Parish’s citrus heritage at the Plaquemines Parish Fair and Orange Festival! This three-day festival honors the rich history of citrus farming in the area and showcases the local bounty with a variety of exciting activities.
Festival Highlights:
- Live Music: Enjoy performances from local and regional artists.
- Local Food: Savor delicious dishes featuring local ingredients.
- Family Activities: Fun for all ages with engaging activities for kids and adults alike.
- Civil War Reenactments: Experience history with live reenactments.

- Kumquat Stuffing

The festival takes place at historic Fort Jackson, located off Highway 23 in Buras, LA, just 65 miles south of Gretna.
