Discover the birds, wildlife, and natural beauty of Plaquemines Parish at Wings Over the Delta – the First Annual Plaquemines Parish Birding Festival.From the forested wetlands of the upper parish to the marshes and coastal habitats near the mouth of the Mississippi River, Plaquemines Parish is home to an incredible variety of resident and migratory birds. Wings Over the Delta will celebrate these natural resources while introducing residents and visitors to the growing opportunities for birding, conservation, ecotourism, and outdoor recreation throughout Louisiana’s Delta Country.

Whether you’re an experienced birder, a nature enthusiast, or picking up binoculars for the first time, this family-friendly festival will offer something for everyone.

The festival will begin as the forest comes alive with a 6:30 AM Sunrise Birding Walk through Woodlands Conservancy.

Festival activities will include:

Carnival and Entertainment Schedule:

• Friday: Carnival open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Saturday: Festival open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Sunday: Festival open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Celebrate the 80th year of Plaquemines Parish’s citrus heritage at the Plaquemines Parish Fair and Orange Festival! This three-day festival honors the rich history of citrus farming in the area and showcases the local bounty with a variety of exciting activities.

Festival Highlights:

• Live Music: Enjoy performances from local and regional artists.
• Local Food: Savor delicious dishes featuring local ingredients.
• Family Activities: Fun for all ages with engaging activities for kids and adults alike.
• Civil War Reenactments: Experience history with live reenactments.
• Carnival Rides: Enjoy classic rides and games for the whole family.
