Location: Fort Jackson Museum & Welcome Center Buras-Triumph, Louisiana (Located ½ mile north of historic Fort Jackson on LA Hwy 23).

Ceremony & Reception inside the museum featuring a special Katrina Photo Exhibition.

This meaningful morning will reflect on where we’ve been andrecommit to the strength that defines Plaquemines Parish. Let’s Stand Together 20 years later to remember, honor, and move forward.

Meet Fort Woods: Birding Trail Opening & Community Nature Day

in conjunction with Plaquemines Parish Tourism

Join us for a fun and educational day outdoors as we celebrate the opening of the new Birding Trail at Fort Woods — with hands-on nature activities for all ages!

• Birding Basics – A relaxed late-morning session for beginners
• Plant & Tree Walk – Explore local flora with naturalists
• Bug Walk – Discover Fort Woods’ fascinating insect life

• Specimen Station – View furs, feathers, skulls & shells
• Dip Netting Station – Investigate aquatic life in the canal!
