Plaquemines Parish to New Orleans: Mural Dedicated at WDSU
On October 3, 2025 Plaquemines Parish Celebrated the unveiling of the new Plaquemines Parish Mural by Keith Duncan at the WDSU station in New Orleans.

On October 3rd, the Plaquemines Parish Tourism Commission joined community leaders,
partners, and residents to celebrate the unveiling of the new Plaquemines Parish Mural at
WDSU. Designed and painted by renowned artist Keith Duncan, the mural is a bold tribute to
the people and traditions that make Plaquemines Parish unique. From the vibrant citrus groves
to the thriving seafood and fishing industry, each detail tells a story of heritage, hard work and a
deep connection to New Orleans.
Duncan, who grew up in Plaquemines Parish, is a celebrated Louisiana artist. His work has
been featured in galleries and museums across the country. During the event he shared “When
I started doing this mural, I thought about these three boats, the three boats that represent the
region in Plaquemines...my father worked for the pogie plant and he smelled of pogie...I see the
boats as my place of residence."
Completed ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans, this eye-catching artwork will serve
as a lasting symbol of the parish’s culture, beauty and enduring spirit. Drawing inspiration from
the region’s landscapes and local traditions, Duncan brought this vision to life, creating a piece
that reflects both pride and place.
A heartfelt thank you to WDSU for hosting the ceremony and to everyone who came out to help
mark this exciting milestone. Stop by WDSU to see it for yourself!
